The 5th Annual Oil & Gas Admins International Conference and Vendor Exhibition was held Thursday, June 21st at the Houston Stampede Event Center and was truly a success.
Conference attendees converged to experience dynamic speakers and over 70 fantastic vendors from a variety of industries.

La Donna Finnels-Neal, O&GA Founder and CEO, and Sherry Grantham, O&GA Executive Ambassador kicked off the conference with an overview of the conference agenda and a safety moment after Stacey Sanchez, O&GA’s Regional Ambassador At-Large, led an exciting pre-conference networking session. The morning session began with Keynote Speaker Melody Meyer, President of Melody Meyer Energy LLC and Women with Energy. Melody kicked off the conference with an inspiring presentation about the importance of the oil and gas administrative professional to the oil and gas industry. Expert Guest Speaker Mahmoud “Tommy” Kassem, VP of Integration Global Operations for Baker Hughes, a GE Company gave a dynamic presentation on “Oil & Gas Inorganic Growth and Integration = Opportunities”. The morning session concluded with a presentation by Expert Guest Speaker Leslie Wilson, Founder/CEO/Chief Architect of IAM Brands Consulting where he gave attendees career enhancing technology-based information through his presentation entitled “Be the Captain of Your Ship – Prepare Yourself for the Technological Wave”.
During the lunch hour, attendees met with vendors from a variety of industries where they were exposed to diverse products and services and forged new business relationships. Attendees also had the opportunity to network with their industry peers and to experience delicious cuisine provided by Piada Catering. Deb Merril, Board Advisor and Director at Just Energy kicked off the afternoon session with a Keynote presentation that inspired the attendees to be tenacious and to learn how to further their careers in the oil and gas industry by recognizing and cultivating their talents and learning from others. Expert Guest Speaker James W. Morris II, President and CEO of TMC Workforce Solutions and TMC Supply Chain Solutions immediately followed with a presentation that shared important “Habits to Excellence” that are essential to both career and personal development. Expert Guest Speaker Mary Alaniz, O&GA International Career and Mentoring Ambassador and Award-Winning Sr. Executive Assistant closed out the afternoon presenters with an introspective presentation where she shared “The Seven “C”s of Administrative Professionals”.
The afternoon session concluded with a Tabletop Discussion that delved deeper into the “The Seven “C”s of Administrative Professionals”. The attendees broke out into groups that were led by O&GA Leadership Team members.
After a day of learning, networking and making great new connections, the day ended with music, delicious food and fun as we celebrated the end of our 5th Annual event! Pat’s Wings on Wheels catered tasty wings and fish, and 953 Jamz provided fun dance tunes.
