Mahmoud “Tommy” Kassem
Mahmoud Kassem is the VP of Integration Global Operations. His role encompasses the execution of the integration goals including revenue and cost synergies, organizational alignment, and process simplification for Baker Hughes a GE Company.
Tommy previously held the role of Executive Vice President in GE Oil & Gas for Drilling & Surface, responsible for driving growth and strategic market penetration for the upstream Oil & Gas products lines which included Pressure Control, Down-hole Technologies, Drilling systems and Artificial Lift Platforms for the MENAT region.
He joined GE in May 2009 as the Middle East Operation Leader for Global Services GE O&G HQ in Qatar to manage both the Contractual Services business and Transactional business for the Middle East Region. Tommy was then appointed as Growth, Innovation & Competitive Marketing Manager based in Atlanta, US where he was responsible for the delivery of in-depth strategic studies, competitive analysis and competitive landscape covering both Energy and Oil & Gas.
Prior to GE, Tommy was the General Manager for Baker Hughes, Atlas division in Tripoli, Libya. He managed the start-up and strategic development of the Libyan operations. He also covered Technical, Sales and Operations positions throughout his career with Baker Hughes in many locations worldwide such as US, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Eastern Europe and Angola.
Tommy is a 23-year veteran of the Oil & Gas industry, He graduated from Cairo University, Egypt, where he received a B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Power Engineering and holds an Executive MBA from the Bocconi Business School in Milan, Italy. He lives in Houston, Texas with his wife, Mirella.
