As an oil and energy administrative professional, your skills are unique. The OGAP is a certification program designed to not only showcase the skills you have acquired in your current department, but to expand your knowledge into other areas of the diverse oil and energy industry as well. This exposure and demonstrated knowledge makes you more valuable to your company and most importantly, it gives you an advantage as you seek to stand out in the industry among your peers.
The course is industry-specific and therefore ALL participants (members and non-members) must meet the standard prerequisites as outlined below before taking the exam to maintain the integrity of the certification.
Demonstrate at least 2 years of administrative professional experience in the oil & energy industry, or demonstrate at least 5 years of administrative professional experience in any industry with the intention of employment within the oil and gas industry.
No. The OGAP certification is SPECIFIC to the oil and energy industry. All certification program information is directly related to the oil and energy industry and does not require previous certification by other administrative certification programs.
The OGAP Certification is based on a series of modules. Each module focuses on a specific topic in the certification program, followed by a series of test questions. A final overall test of the modules will determine certification.
The modules were designed specifically to “educate” the user using a simplistic and succinct format without trick questions and irrelevant “filler” information. The goal is to ensure the user has the best possible chance of retaining the information and that the information provides immediate value to both the user and his/her employer.
The OGAP Certification program is computer-based and on-demand. Opportunities for classroom administration of the program may be offered periodically.
Prior to taking the exam, EiS International encourages registered participants to share the link to the program benefits with your supervisors.
Depending on your level of knowledge of the oil and gas industry and the amount of time you have to dedicate to go through each module and pre-tests, completion time will vary from person to person.
Registrants will be given one timed hour to complete the final certification exam.
You may review the modules and take the pre-test questions at your leisure. Once you begin the final exam you will be given one-hour for completion. You will not have the opportunity to stop the final exam once you begin.
Registrants will have three chances to re-take the pre-test questions and two chances to take the final assessment. If the registrant does not pass the final assessment after the second attempt, they may re-take the certification again in the following quarter.
Pre-test study guides are not provided as the certification is module based and designed in a mnemonic format to aid in information retention. Reference material is available during the certification.
