ANGELINA HUDSON, Executive Director, National Alliance on Mental Illness Greater Houston

ANGELINA HUDSON is the Executive Director for the National Alliance on Mental Illness.  Prior to her current role, she served as NAMI Greater Houston’s Vice President of Programs and Partnerships where she supported earlier identification of those facing a mental health condition, removing barriers to mental health services and supports, and de-criminalizing those living with mental health conditions by advocating for appropriate treatment options. She has also been instrumental in leading the operations of the psychoeducation programs servicing family members of loved ones diagnosed with a serious mental health condition, parents of children diagnosed, military family members reeling from deployment-related challenges, and those searching for their own recovery path.

Most recently, Hudson launched an initiative to raise awareness and promote mental health interventions targeted toward youth and young adults, as well as established a collaboration with Texas’ Workforce Commission to connect adults disabled by their mental health diagnosis to supported-employment opportunities, cross-training, and entrepreneurial development.

NAMI Greater Houston is committed more than ever to working to address the increasing need for families and persons affected by mental illness to have a powerful voice in the mental health community through advocacy, education, support and public awareness so that all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives.

NAMI Greater Houston is a grassroots organization that envisions a healing community where all persons affected by mental illness can experience resiliency on the road to wellness. www.namigreaterhouston.org.
