ABOUT SHAWNA:
Shawna Lamborn has a wide range of administrative experience supporting oil & gas, legal, insurance, social service, advertising sales, and software development companies during her 15 year career in Canada and USA. In 2012 Shawna joined Baker Hughes where she is currently an executive assistant for the North America leadership team, leveraging her lean six sigma training for space planning of the 700+ offices at her Houston office location. Early in her career, she earned diplomas for Business and Computer Software from colleges in Alberta, Canada and The Woodlands, TX. As a steering group committee member for the Baker Hughes Women’s Resource Group, Shawna recognized the value and vision of Oil & Gas Admins International, and became a member at their inaugural conference in May, 2014 and has been an active participant ever since.
INTERESTING FACTS:
Shawna worked for Interfaith of The Woodlands, a non-profit social service agency, from 2002 to 2010 to enrich and support the community where she and her family lived. Starting part-time as a receptionist, she quickly advanced to the advertising sales position for the award-winning Woodlands Directory, which raised the majority of the funding of Interfaith through yellow page ad sales. During her career at Interfaith, Shawna’s performance was recognized with the Executive Director’s Excellence Achievement award for professional attitude and customer service in 2005, 2007 & 2009.
Shawna’s motivation and organization skills enabled the new Houston High School Inline Hockey league to start in 2001, where she presided as an elected board executive and president from 2004-2007 for 24 teams. An avid fan of hockey, Shawna began playing the game herself in 2005, with her team soon winning 5 consecutive city championships, currently semi-retired.
